“Binji” is the name for this particular place, the sandy area at the junction of the Beatrice River tributary and the North Johnstone River.  Here the family group would camp as often as they could get away from working at Brook’s and Thompson’s farms, and be camping out under the trees and Milky Way “yalgay”, fishing and living bush style.  Grandma recalls burying her Grandad’s green bananas in the sand “waguy” to help ripen them up and then they would put them in the hot coals and cook them up “dangaba-I”.  This was a favourite meal of hers.
